Green Spring Getaways: A Longwood Holiday 11 am - 11 pm. Come along with Green Spring Gardens on a trip to Longwood Gardens, one of the world's premier display gardens located in Kennett Square, PA. During the holidays Longwood features dazzling floral displays, stunning trees, holiday music, dancing fountains and ice skating under the stars. Udvar-Hazy Center will host a family day and celebrate its 5th Anniversary on Saturday, December 14th from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. There will be Highlights tours at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Other activities include Become An Aerospace All Star, Ask A Pilot with Buzz Carpenter who flew the museum’s SR-71, Discovery Stations on Principles of Flight, Early flight and Air Transportation, two book signings and Flights of Fancy Story Time.

Fairfax Symphony Orchestra's Holiday Pops Concert
3 pm. GMU Center for the Arts. 4373 Mason Pond Drive, Fairfax. The Fairfax Choral Society and the W. T. Woodson High School Select Vocal Ensemble return to join the Symphony for renditions of the season's most beloved tunes. FSO Associate Conductor, Glenn Quader, shares the podium with Dr. Douglas Mears, Music Director of the Choral Society, and Michael Ehrlich, Director of the W.T. Woodson Chorus. The program delivers a wide variety of pieces to set a festive mood for the holiday season. The Orchestra offers heartwarming renditions of Victor Herbert's Babes in Toyland and Russian Christmas Music by Alfred Reed; the Fairfax Choral Society sings the hauntingly beautiful Bring a Torch Jeanette Isabella, and the Woodson Select Vocal Ensemble delights the audience with a DoWop version of I Have a Little Dreidl. The Air Force Honor Guard Drill Team is the traveling component of the USAF Honor Guard and inspires Air Force awareness among military and civilian audiences through its complex drill routine. In all they do, the Drill Team personifies the integrity, discipline, teamwork, and professionalism of every Airman and every Air Force mission. During the Air Force Honor Guard's 60-year history, the Drill Team has performed in every state of the union and many countries abroad. Performance begins at 11 a.m. and lasts approximately 20 minutes.
