Storytelling at Sully 5 pm - 6:30 pm. 3650 Historic Sully Way, Chantilly. 703-437-1794. Gather ‘round a crackling fire and hear stories of times past. Visit with the storytellers to learn how to spin your own yarn. Roast marshmallows with your family and friends. $4.

Mothers and Daughters in Fashion at Sully Historic Site 2 pm - 4:30 pm, 3650 Historic Sully Way, Chantilly. 703-437-1794. Perfect for upcoming Mother’s Day! Ladies of all ages can decorate a hat with a “federal flourish” using early 19th century style accessories. During break time, enjoy refreshments and watch a fashion show of 19th century style attire. For an added special touch, tour the house with a collection of privately owned vintage fashions on display. Pre-paid reservations required by 4/26. Cost: $20/person, includes all materials for hat making.

Holding the Past in the Present at Sully Historic Site 1 pm - 3 pm, 3650 Historic Sully Way, Chantilly. 703-437-1794. Hold Sully in your hands. Budding archaeologists or historians will dig this! Use archaeological methods and techniques to see what you find, and discover how Sully’s history has been reconstructed. Examine artifacts found at Sully and figure out how they were used. House tour not included. $5.

A Banjo on My Knee at Sully Historic Site 1 pm - 4 pm. 3650 Historic Sully Way, Chantilly. 703-437-1794. Make a rubber band banjo, and learn the history of this versatile historic instrument while listening to a local banjo player. Guided tour included. Limited space. Reservations required by 5/17. $10.

Hispanics in the American Revolution at Sully Historic Site 12 pm - 4 pm. 3650 Historic Sully Way, Chantilly. 703-437-1794. Did you know that Hispanics were significant contributors to the success of the American colonies in their struggle for independence from Great Britain? Meet members of the Spanish Louisiana Regiment and learn interesting facts about the Revolutionary War as soldiers and civilians present scenes of 18th life including musket firing, drill, and camp life. See and hear Furia Flamenca as they perform traditional Flamenco dancing, and enjoy a parade of fashion. $7/adult, $5/child.
